What We Treat?

At the Neurolink Centre we are concerned with the neurophysiological reasons that have caused your complaint. 
This in simple terms amounts to a communication breakdown between your neurology (the brain) and your physiology (the body). 

The body works as an integrated being; its systems do not work in isolation.  
To resolve complaints fully, we must understand, then address complaints based on the body’s complex matrix of interrelated function. Having the access to working right back at this ‘baseline’ means that we are addressing dysfunction that may relate to a range of complaints and symptoms.
This in part explains why we specialise in addressing such a range of healthcare issues.
Using NIS we are able to look at a full spectrum of complaints that fit into the following 4 areas:

• Physical
• Pathological
• Neurological
• Emotional

But more importantly, you should understand HOW complaints are viewed with NIS, and this may help you to understand why we treat such a spectrum of illnesses. 
Your complaint may have already been given a ‘label’: the name given to describe a particular group of symptoms. 
The list is infinite, but a few examples are: asthma, ADD, fybromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome, dermatitis, etc.
What these labels do is DESCRIBE the symptoms you have, they do not ESTABLISH the causes. 

It is impossible to list every complaint we may be able to assist with but the following breakdown may help indicate the scope of complaints we work with:

Physiology

• Joint, tendon, ligament, muscle and spinal pain/restriction.
• Nerve entrapment
• Migraines
• Immune system-related
• Auto-immune
• Digestive System; resulting in sinus & mucus issues
• Allergies
• Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ Fybromyalgia
• Poor Organ function
• Diabetes
• Skin Disorders eg: eczema, psoriasis, acne
• Respiratory illnesses
• Irregular cell activity; malignant and benign collections
• Insomnia  
• Substance intolerance due to toxicity
• Female health; fertility, menstruation, menopause, pregnancy, post-natal depression
• Male health; fertility
• Depression/mood swings relating to hormonal levels
• Heart and Cholesterol; blood pressure, arterial and venous supply

Pathological

• Infections; viral, bacteria, fungal & protozoa
• Neurological
• Trauma & accidents; closed head injury, paralysis & impaired function of any of the higher cortical centres
• Learning and behavioural difficulties; ADD/ ADHD/ Dyslexia, Aspergers Syndrome
• Dyspraxia; memory recall, concentration, co-ordination, reading, speech, frustration/self esteem, inability to combine one function whilst performing another
• Autism
• Multiple Sclerosis
• Motor Neuron Disease

Emotional/ Mental

NIS does not address emotional/mental issues per se. We do not get involved in the personal events surrounding these issues. We work only in the context of addressing the neurological implications that underpin these conditions. A total approach to care of these conditions may likely include counseling and lifestyle modifications. We do not offer these services but will make referrals.

I came to see you earlier in the week for the second time regarding a long standing lower back issue, caused as a result of school boy rugby some 20 years ago. I had learnt to live with the continuous pain and it had become part of my life, even though exercise would exacerbate the pain....
I’ve now got confidence in NIS as I’ve learnt that it is a system that works. It may take a few visits, but it is clear that you’ve developed something that is logical and works.
